Hey guys, my nephew has a Nvidia 1050, and is looking to get another graphics card.
Would he be better getting another Nvidia 1050, and put them in SLI....or get a Nvidia 1060?? and have 1 slightly better card, running with his older 1050 card??

SLI of a GTX 1050 Ti is not something I would recommend.
Upgrading from a GTX 1050 Ti to a GTX 1060 also isn't the recommended way to go since the cost of such an upgrade does not cover the performance increase, I mean he would pay too much for such a small performance gain.
Vega 56 or GTX 1070 would be the way to go, or simply waiting for a GTX 2060 or 1160 (depending on how Nvidia will name the new cards).

Even if it were capable of SLI, support is nowadays being placed in the hands of the developers rather than Nvidia.
A single better card is going to be far more consistent in results.

Cards like 1060 or below it doesn't support SLI. Only 1070 and above GPUs support sli. So you can't sli. Rather you may consider upgrading to a single better card
