Greetings GTribers!
One new Syfy television series I am currently enjoying watching right now is Krypton. Hold yer horses though because it will not definitely be what you may think. There is no Kal-El or Superman in the show. Although there are a lot of appetizing teasers and Easter eggs to satisfy Superman fans (See the Image). The premiere episode even played out John Williams' iconic Superman theme. One thing for sure there will not be any super powerful Kryptonian that can fly, move faster than… See More
a bullet or strong enough to move planets out of rotation in this show.
What we have instead are ordinary Kryptonians that can bleed and die. This is because there is no yellow sun that provides them powers but in place is a deadly red sun killing their planet bit by bit. The show's greatest strength is by immersing us with what Kryptonian life was all about, the politics, the military, the beliefs and the technology.
The show is in fact showing us Krypton 200 years before Kal-El is born of which the story focuses on his grandfather Seg-El of the House of El. So if you are curious about Krypton or the tale behind its destruction or just wanting to watch a series that combines Game of Thrones and Dune, this show may be to your liking.
Game on!
I will give it a try.

Some of it doesn't make sense. If Seg-El is his grandparent, and lets say their lifespan is 120 years as it says in the lore(when not under influence of yellow sun), and Seg-El has a child in his 30's (as they are doing it now in the show) and his child has a kid in even
his 60's(which is still far fetched but lets say its so) that would mean Kal-El was born 110 premature. Unless Kal-el is his grand grand grandson or something.
