Greetings GTribers!
When I was around 10 – 11 years old, one of my older brothers introduced me to a “thinking game” months before I finally I became aware that it was Chess. I so love the game, all its tactics and strategies, I read all the Chess books that I can find. During my high school days, I was introduced to Dungeons and Dragons pen and paper tabletop RPG and also got to play Battletech wherein I enjoyed the mech battles during our sessions. This went on during my college days until… See More
such time Wizkids launched “Mechwarrior: Dark Age” and later on “Mechwarrior: Age of Destruction”. It was their take on Battletech using their HeroClix system similar to Mage Knight, Marvel, DC HeroClix, and so on. I fell in love with the collectible miniatures, the gameplay relying on rulers and dice, terrain effects, and the individual stats of mechs, vehicles and even infantry squads. I love the strategy of the game.
Today, the RTS aspect is once again revived in the form of the Battletech PC game. Although you will no longer see the need for rulers and dice rolls, the game itself retains the strategy of all its predecessors from the tabletop RPG/RTS up to the Mechwarrior HeroClix.
So yes, I am definitely planning to buy this game. Not today but maybe after a month or so, such a way most of the bugs, glitches, performance issues are fix. Most GTribers know that I love RTS and with Battletech added to the mix...I simply cannot ignore it.
Game on!
I hope you enjoy it Jaime!
