I didn't win #Singularity. Congratulations to all the lucky winners.
Though I did buy a new gaming PC during the sales going on. I figured well if I win Singularity then I can give the one I bought to my mom, if not then at least I will still have gotten a new gaming PC.
I wanted to get the i7-8700K but that would have added about $600 to total price and Nvidia GeForce 1080 TI which would have added about $300 more so I didn't get that and went with Dell XPS 8930, Windows 10 Pro x64, 32GB DDR4-2666… See More
RAM, 8th Gen i7-8700 3.2GHz 6 Cores / 12 Threads, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5, 1TB HDD + 16GB Intel Optane Memory. Got an ASUS VP247QG 23.6” Full HD 1080p 75Hz w/ DisplayPort monitor w/ built-in speakers that work great which when monitor and PC sound is set at 100% can hear across the house as if were in the same room so I keep the PC sound set at 4-10%. So far every game I have played have on the highest settings. The computer manufacturing date is November 2017 and monitor September 2017 so I think I picked a really good one for a pre-built.
I know some might be thinking what about AMD. I was considering it but I based my decision on budget, best CPU could get, best GPU could get, and price and I had already seen a ton of CPU and GPU comparisons thanks to posts made by fellow GTribe members so thank you all for that, it helped a lot.
I did want to do custom build but I couldn't make a list that was in my price range without lowering the specs which is something we all have extreme difficulty doing. My old computer is 7-8 years old and couldn't wait any more years continuing to save up what little is left after paying bills. With the new graphics cards put in it over the years, latest is Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 TI 2GB GDDR5, it could play most newer games on medium settings with no lag but couldn't play newer games that listed recommended CPU requirements of i5 minimum and i7 max or the AMD equivalent. It can still play any video no problem even HEVC / H.265 encoded, so once the new computer arrived I hooked the old PC to living room TV.
I know alot of people who are anti Pre Build. But the number one thing with pre builds is saving money. If you find a deal on slickdeals or something for a Core i/Ryzen Processor 8+ Gigs of ram a SSD and what ever graphics card for under 800$ then your doing the number one thing a custom builder wants, your saving money. Good on ya for the upgrade and I wish you the best gaming!
